Nearly 150 people attended, including Rupa Huq MP, Councillors, Trade Unions, Faith groups and family members of the two women that were attacked. It was a magnificent response. Thank you to NEU members that attended.

A few NEU districts beat the anti-trade union laws, most did not; should we, can we be the spark that builds the fire that sweeps away this toxic assessment system? Would a ‘Coalition of the Willing’ work? This meeting is important as a decision on this campaign will be taken at the next Executive meeting on Sat July 13th.

We know the harm High Stakes Testing (SATs) does to our pupils. We know it narrows and restricts teaching and learning. Our Headteachers agree with us and now so do Labour and Lib’ Dems’; we will explore how we turn opinion and political parties’ election pledges into reality.
