Pay Ballot FAQs
I have been told that as the recognised unions have accepted the pay ballot that the now agreed pay rise will be paid (with back pay) shortly. Do I still need to vote in the ballot?
Yes! The NEU’s view is that, given the pay deal is not fully funded by Government, and that it means an effective pay cut because of the current rate of inflation, industrial action by educators (teachers and support staff) is the only way to secure the funding necessary to deliver improvements.
When it is paid, will I receive the full £1,925 pay rise?
If you are paid on a Term Time Only (TTO) basis, which means that you are paid on a pro-rata basis, you will receive the pro-rata value of the rise. So though you will receive the same percentage pay rise as your colleagues on 52-week contracts, you will receive a smaller flat-rate rise.
Remember this rubbish pay increase isn’t funded. That could mean job losses. Funding is the key reason why you must vote yes and post your ballot paper today.
