On the 20th June up to 250,000 people marched against the destructive cuts to the NHS, the welfare state, education and public services that will continue under the Tory government. Under the umbrella movement the People’s Assembly Against Austerity, the NUT joined many other unions and organisations to highlight the impact that these cuts will have on our students and working conditions. Ealing NUT members present felt the demo was important and timely especially in the face of this week’s budget and that such action is crucial to raise and maintain public awareness.
